Abstract: The optimal process conditions for producing biodiesel from waste edible oil having high animal oil content using NaOH homogeneous catalyst were obtained as follows: the weight ratio of methanol to waste edible oil was 25%,the catalyst amount was l.0%,the reaction temperature was 60℃,the reaction time was 60 min and the stirring speed was 3 000 r/min. A scale up test was carried out under such conditions and the results showed that the yield of biodiesel was 93.6%, some of the physicochemical properties of this product reached the requirements of National Standard for Biodiesel Fuel. The low temperature fluidity of this obtained biodiesel could be improved by blending conventional 0# diesel fuel.
