Synthesis of polyoxyethylene aliphatic alcohol diester and its industrial application

Abstract: Polyoxyethylene aliphatic alcohol diester was synthesized using toluene-p-sulfonic acid as catalyst and petroleum ether as water-carrying agent. The influences of reaction temperature,reaction time, catalyst dosage and reactants molar ratio on the conversion were investigated. Orthogonal experiment design was conducted and optimum reaction conditions were obtained as follows: an alcohol ether polymerization degree of 3, a reaction temperature of 240℃, a reaction time of 6 h, a catalyst content of 0.8% and a molar ratio of binary acid to alcohol ether of 1:2.8. The industrial application of the prepared product showed that said product acted as the main monomer of spinning finishes exhibited good thermal stability, lubricity, drawability and cohesion.
