Abstract: A new green extreme pressure and antiwear agent, bis (dimethylamino) phosphate hydrogenated cardanol ester, was synthesized from cardanol. The structure of the extreme pressure antiwear agent was characterized by IR and NMR. The friction performance of the new agent in mineral baseoil was evaluated. The results showed that the hydrogenated cardanol diphosphonate had the structure of amino phosphonate and contained P and N elements, which not only ensured the high bearing capacity, but also had the excellent antiwear and friction-reduction performance. Compared with other extreme pressure and antiwear agents, bis (dimethyamine) phosphate hydrogenated cardanol ester had excellent extreme pressure, antiwear and friction-reduction performance.
