Abstract: Bimodal porous materials have attracted much attention in the field of catalysis because of their ability to construct macromolecule diffusion channels and high reactive surface on the same catalyst. In this paper, the structural characteristics and construction mechanism of bimodal porous materials were reviewed, the preparation principle and method of bimodal porous materials were summarized, and their application in electrocatalysis, photocatalysis, catalytic hydrotreatment of oil and the principle of catalyst performance improvement were summarized. On this basis, the research direction of bimodal porous materials in the future was discussed.
