Abstract: The spontaneous ignition characteristic and flame propagation velocity of several kinds of gasoline were compared by using constant volume combustion bombs, which provided a theoretical basis for gasoline blending and alternative fuel selection from the view of combustion science. It was concluded that furan-based fuels could maintain high flame propagation speed, had a wide dilution boundary at low equivalence ratios, and were potential lean-burn components.
