Abstract: Because of the ring tension of the cyclic structure, its low-temperature performance is better than that of long-chain alkanes. A series of monoester products were synthesized by esterification of several cyclic anhydride and alcohol (ethers) as raw materials, and their anti-wear effects and low-temperature performance were analyzed respectively. The research results showed that among the studied cyclic dicarboxylic acid monoester products, the methyl hexahydrophthalic anhydride (MHHPA) reacted with 2-Butoxyethanol (2-B) to prepare methyl hexahydrophthalic ethylene glycol butyl ether monoester (2-BM), which had both good anti-wear performance and low-temperature properties. With an additive amount of only 200 μg/g in ultra-low sulfur diesel, it can significantly improve the lubrication performance of diesel, reducing the average wear scar diameter (WSD) by 242 μm, decreasing the average friction coefficient by 51% and increasing the average oil film coverage by 10%.The freezing point of 2-BM is -42 ℃, which has a good application prospectat low-temperature conditions.
