Abstract: At present, the common pure water electrolysis technologies all rely on the acquisition of ultra-pure fresh water. Water is the most critical raw material for electrolyzing water, and wastewater resources can also serve as an important source of energy production. The total amount of produced water treated daily in oil fields is large and the cost is relatively high. If it is not utilized, it will cause a waste of resources. The electrolysis treatment and co-production of hydrogen technology can be introduced to improve the current situation..By comparing the advantages and disadvantages of various hydrogen production technologies, the feasibility of using renewable energy electricity to electrolyze produced water in oil fields for co-production of hydrogen and degradation technology is explored through on-site experiments.
