Abstract: In 2010, the total energy consumption of Jinan Company should be reduced by 20% (based on the data of 2005) according to the layout of SINOPEC. The status of energy consumption in the Company was discussed and projects including optimizing energy utilization in processing unit, setting up thermal cooperation among units, further recovering low level heat and comprehensive optimizing the steam power system were proposed. The comprehensive refining energy consumption was reduced significantly since these projects were implemented; an energy saving of 87.36 MJ/t was obtained.
