Abstract: Molybdenum dithiophosphate, tungsten dithiophosphate and glyceryl mono-oleate were synthesized and used as lube additives. Their friction reducing performance in lube oil was evaluated by HFRR testing device. Test results showed that these three friction reducing additives could reduce the friction coefficient significantly. Glyceryl mono-oleate had better friction reducing property at low testing temperature, molybdenum dithiophosphate and tungsten dithiophosphate had good friction reducing performance at high temperature. The complex of dithiophosphates and glyceryl mono-oleate exhibited positive synergistic effect on reducing friction.
