Abstract: It is an effective tool and method to use energy balance table and energy network diagram to assess a project in energy efficiency. A case study of adopting energy network diagram in the energy assessment for a large scale refining and petrochemical project was carried out, and some pertinence analysis and theoretical discussion were given taking into account the project characters. Finally, the scientific rationality of energy utilization in this project was assessed.
