Abstract: Soaring rare earth price is forcing refiners with FCC unit to adopt alternative FCC catalysts to reduce their costs. The development in low / zero rare earth FCC catalysts with high activity and selectivity by Grace Davison, Albemarle and BASF is introduced in detail，respectively. The optimization and substitute technologies of such rare earth FCC catalysts are discussed according to our national conditions in this paper.
