DEVELOPMENT OF BIRD’S NEST FORM GUARD CATALYST AND ITS APPLICATION IN HYDROCRACKING UNIT

Abstract: A series of bird’s nest form hydrogenation guard catalysts were developed as the feedstocks become worse and heavier in refineries and successfully applied in a commercial hydrocracking unit. The results show that the guard catalysts are characterized by larger capacity for intercepting impurity and depositing scale. The impurities are deposited uniformly in the guard catalyst bed, resulting in extended cycle length.
