Abstract: The neopentyl glycol diheptanoate was used as a model compound to simulate the thermal oxidation, decomposition and polymerization process of ester aviation base oil at high temperature. Molecular simulation was used to calculate the molecular bond energy of the model compound. Based on the results of oxidation, pyrolysis, polymerization, and the changes of acid value and viscosity, the oxidation mechanism of the model compound was proposed to provide the basic data for the study of the thermal oxidation mechanism of ester lubricating oil.
