Abstract:

The problems which hydrogen sulfide (H2S) content in lean amine and desulfurized gas is not on-standard was appeared in West Pacific Petrochemical Co., Ltd. Dalian sulfur recovery plant amine desulfurization system during process operation. It is found that the main reason of the above problem is there was large amount of sodium ions (up to 7800ppm) in amine solution. With many experiments in lab, the ion exchange method is used to remove sodium ion from the amine solution. The hydrogen sulfide content analyzed in the sodium-removed lean amine solution reduced from 4g/L to 1.5g/L in industrial application, and gas desulphurization depth is increased significantly. Meanwhile desulfurization system steam usage decreased by 8t/h.
