Abstract: Technologies of water saving and reducing wastewater effluent and their applications in refineries are summarized, major issues in water saving and reducing wastewater effluent are discussed, and some suggestions for further improvement are proposed, such as analyzing the current situation of water consumption and wastewater discharge in the refinery to set up a plan of water saving and minimizing wastewater discharge; optimizing the water network and developing new technologies in this area for less investment and more profitability.
