Abstract: In order to further reduce the sulfur content of FCC naphtha, CGP-S catalyst was developed by Research Institute of Petroleum Processing (RIPP). The commercial application of CGP-S catalyst was carried out in the MIP unit of SINOPEC Cangzhou Company. The performance test results showed that the removal of sulfur containing compounds from FCC naphtha could be enhanced significantly by using CGP-S catalyst. When CGP-S catalyst occupied 60% of the total catalyst inventory, the ratio of sulfur content in naphtha to sulfur content in feedstock was decreased 49.23% and 27.43% as compared with that of the base case and CGP-2 case, respectively. CGP-S catalyst also showed good bottoms crackability and product selectivity, furthermore, the quality of naphtha was improved. The selectivity of gasoline increased 2.27 percentage points, MON increased about 1 unit and olefin content in gasoline decreased almost 4 percentage points as compared with the performance test results of CGP-2 catalyst.
