Abstract: By comparing the energy consumption of a FCC unit processing heavy feed prior and post to revamping with MIP technology, it can be seen that the energy consumption post to revamping is declined due to the decrease of required reaction heat and the increase of steam output. The energy balance and exergy balance are computed and analyzed using three-link model which including energy exchange and transmission link, technology utilization link and energy recovery link. Results show that in the energy recovery link of the unit, potential energy saving space still could be found, such as improving the energy utilization of regenerator and flue gas turbine. Some suggestions for further energy conservation of the unit are discussed and proposed.
