STUDY ON THE PREPARATION AND PROPERTIES OF A NEW COMPLEX ANTIOXIDANT

Abstract: A sulfide-containing easter lubricant additive was synthesized by amine, carbon bisulfide etc., and a new complex antioxidant was developed by incorporating hindered phenol and aromatic amine antioxidants into it. The tribological and anti-oxidation performance of said complex antioxidant in hydrogenated lube base stock and gasoline engine oil were evaluated by rotary bomb oxidation test (RBOT), pressurized differential scanning calorimeter (PDSC) and wear tester. Results showed that said complex antioxidant exhibited excellent anti-oxidation performance, positive synergistic effect with other additives and certain extreme pressure properties. Furthermore, this complex antioxidant was helpful to improve the anti-oxidation property of MoDTC for keeping product having good friction reducing properties even after oxidation.
